We are prayerfully engaged with a variety of projects in the Indian Ocean Gateway. Projects include scouting, translation, recording, church planting and literacy training. Read more below to find out about our current and upcoming projects.
Indonesia is the third most unreached nation in the world according to global cast resources. There are 323 language groups without any portion of scripture translated. There are also 234 people groups that are unreached. This means that the local believers do not have the numbers and the resources to reach its people.
The first phase of the project is to send scouting teams, which we will be sending out in October 2019. Our followup goal will then be to begin oral bible translation and discipleship training.
PROJECT: Oral bible translation of languages that have no bible portion, particularly in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Our desire is also to translate the Jesus Film into many of these Aboriginal languages.
We are also producing audio recordings of scripture already translated
ONGOING: Advocacy and resourcing for oral bible translation projects among aboriginals Australia wide. We have completed linguistic surveys in different areas and have started to translate the book of Luke into the Kimberley Kriol Langauge in partnership with local indigenous people.
INFORMATION: There are 263 unreached people groups in Nepal (out of 272 total people groups. That means 96.7% of the country is unreached. There are approximately 23 unreached bibles language groups in Nepal. We have mapped out where the people are (based on latest research). You can click on the pins in the map below to find out more information on each of these unreached language groups.
Project: We are training others to facilitate oral bible translation projects.
